Up in the Blue Mountains, Woodford Academy is a National Trust property that dates back to the 1830s. There might be an older single building in the area but not by much as europeans didn't find a crossing over the mountains until 1813.

I've got a month until I need my next costume, a friend is hosting a regency era Boxing Day dinner party. Complete with 3 removes for dinner. We all get to make something to bring so it's not a huge cooking burden on her, and as there's so much food vast quantities of each aren't needed even though there's 12 of us ( Read more... )

The Museum of Sydney currently has an exhibition called Celestial City: Sydney's Chinese Story, about the Chinese who migrated here starting in the 19th century and the difficulties that the White Australia policy had on them. Friday evening was spent celebrating Nelson's glorious victory at Trafalgar!    I got changed at work rather than go home and then come back past my workplace on the way to the Lord Nelson pub at the Rocks.
